Expert Advisors are the core strength of Metatrader as they allow for total automation of your trading strategy. Multiple indicators, including (Moving averages, ATR, CCI, Bollinger Bands, etc), can be combined into a single program and made to behave according to your trading strategy. The resulting system can be coded to have mutiple entry points, STOPS, Profit Targets, Trailing Stops, Market orders and/or pending orders included as a part of the strategy.

The only requirement for trading-automation is that your strategy obey strict trading rules.

To automate your strategy, your trading rules must be quantifiable. All rules must be objective (not influenced by personal feelings, interpretations) and not subjective. There must be no room to misinterpret a signal or any rule of the trading algorithm

The computer cannot determine that a price bar is "BIG" or "SMALL" or "LONG" or "SHORT". The system CAN, however, determine if a price bar is of a certain length (in pips) or bigger or smaller than some other price bar. The system can also determine the relative position of one indicator line to another, detect when lines cross each other, compare indicator values from different timeframes, or even make trading decisions based on data from any tradeable pair.

Custom Indicators:

Examples of a custom idicators are Moving Averages, Stochastics, CCI, Average True Range, etc. Custom indicators are used in the technical analysis phase of trading. They show market conditions visually.

We can develop your custom indicaors based on your mathematical formula or we can modify an existing indicator (source code needed).

Ideally, scripts are used to do a single task and will run only once when placed on a chart. An example of a script's task would be to place a trade, modify or delete trades when "dropped" onto a chart. The script would run once and then shutdown.
